How to Spot Misinformation: An Evening with David Boraks

How to Spot Misinformation: An Evening with David Boraks In-Person

Misinformation and disinformation are widespread these days, and it's up to citizens to separate the good information from the bad. That's true in politics, the financial world, and in debates over climate change. We'll take a look at examples and discuss tactics for spotting misinformation as the November election approaches.

David Boraks is a veteran reporter, producer, and photographer in the Charlotte area. Until January 2024, he was the environment, energy, and climate reporter at Charlotte NPR news station WFAE, where he also covered housing and homelessness, government, business, and the arts. From 2006 to 2015, he published an online community news network north of Charlotte that included DavidsonNews.net and CorneliusNews.net. He also has worked as a reporter and editor at American Banker, The Charlotte Observer, LocalBusiness.com, The China News in Taipei, and The Hartford Courant. He lives in Davidson with his wife, Shelley Rigger.
